BrainTap is suitable for children (ages five and up), teenagers, adults, and the elderly. It is beneficial for people experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, difficulty with focus, sleep disturbances, and nervous system dysregulation.
-
BrainTap is safe for most people; however, it is not recommended for individuals with epilepsy or a history of photosensitivity, severe light sensitivity disorders, those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury and certain medical conditions where flickering light exposure should be avoided. If you are unsure, consult your healthcare provider before use.
-
While BrainTap is designed to deliver benefits through both audio and visual stimulation, individuals with partial hearing loss can still experience positive effects from the sessions. The technology incorporates light frequencies and rhythmic pulses that work through visual pathways, which can still support relaxation, focus, and cognitive benefits even if auditory input is limited.
That said, if a user has severe hearing loss in both ears, they may not fully experience the audio-based entrainment aspects. However, many individuals with partial hearing loss still report noticeable benefits from using BrainTap.
-
Yes. BrainTap is a complementary therapy that works well alongside counselling, psychology, occupational therapy, and other interventions. By calming the nervous system, it can make other therapies more productive and beneficial.
-
BrainTap is completely passive - you don’t have to concentrate, interact, or "do" anything for it to be effective. You simply sit back, close your eyes, and allow the session to guide your brain into a more regulated state. This makes it accessible for people of all ages and abilities, including those who may struggle with traditional relaxation techniques.
-
BrainTap and neurofeedback both support brain function, but they work in very different ways.
BrainTap is a passive system—it uses guided audio, light, and sound to gently guide the brain into optimal states. It requires no effort from the user, making it simple and accessible for all ages. It’s designed for everyday brain health, helping with relaxation, focus, and stress management. While it’s beneficial for those with more complex conditions, it doesn’t require a diagnosis or professional oversight to use.
Neurofeedback is an active training process—it provides real-time feedback on brain activity, helping individuals learn to self-regulate over multiple sessions. It is often used for specific clinical conditions such as ADHD, anxiety disorders, or traumatic brain injuries and requires professional supervision.
BrainTap offers a convenient, immediate, and accessible solution for managing everyday stress, improving mental clarity, and supporting overall brain health, while neurofeedback is a more intensive, structured intervention for targeted neurological conditions.
-
Yes. BrainTap is often beneficial for neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, and sensory sensitivities. It supports emotional regulation, reduces overwhelm, and helps improve focus in a way that is passive and non-demanding.
-
Yes. Sessions are short (13 to 15 minutes for children), and kids do not need to sit perfectly still. They can hold a toy, fidget, or even lie down if that makes them more comfortable. The experience is designed to be relaxing, not restrictive. Parents are welcome to stay with their child throughout the session to provide reassurance.

No, BrainTap sessions are not currently covered under private health insurance.
-
Yes, siblings, partners or friends can attend appointments together. However, each person must book an individual first session before joining a program.
-
Some people feel a difference immediately after their first session, such as deep relaxation, improved clarity, or better sleep that night.
Others start to notice changes after three to five sessions, including feeling calmer, more focused, or less overwhelmed.
The best results come with consistent use over time.
-
No, we do not offer trial sessions. The benefits of brain entrainment come with consistency over time, and a single session does not provide a clear indication of long-term results.

A NeuralChek scan is quick, painless, and non-invasive. You simply sit comfortably while a small sensor clips on your wrists for 3- 5 minutes. The system analyses your HRV and provides a detailed report on your nervous system function.
-
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a key indicator of nervous system health. It measures the variation in time between heartbeats, reflecting how well your autonomic nervous system (ANS) is balancing between stress (sympathetic activation) and recovery (parasympathetic activation). A higher HRV generally indicates better stress resilience and nervous system flexibility.
